The Aim of the Fund

To garner a minimum contribution of Rs. 1,000 and upwards from donors to develop a donor base of 10,000 donors (local and foreign) who will contribute on a monthly basis towards the fund. The monthly contribution target is Rs. 10Mn.

Custodians of the Fund

Old Anandians' Sports Club (OASC) is the custodian of the fund. The Executive Committee of the OASC is in charge of the management of the fund, and a committee appointed by OASC will be responsible for authorizing its distribution. The fund shall be maintained and managed with the highest levels of accountability and transparency.

The Fund and the Affiliation with the Ananda Old Boys Association

OASC is the largest affiliated group of Ananda OBA. OASC is also the custodian of sports at Ananda College and has tirelessly worked towards the upliftment of sports together with its affiliated wings since its inception. The sole responsibility pertaining to the management of the fund shall lie with the OASC, which has been created with the support of Anandians from across the globe coming together and working in unison to uplift sports at Ananda College.

The Independent Auditors of the Fund

Nanayakkara & Company, Chartered Accountants, are the independent auditors of the fund.

The Legal Advisors of the Fund

Mr. Uchitha Wickremesinghe (Attorney-at-Law), Mr. Damitha Karunarathne (Attorney-at-Law), and Mr. Prashantha Lal De Alwis (President’s Counsel) are the legal advisors of the fund.

The Utilization of the Fund

  1. To hire/recruit top-level coaching staff for College sports programs. Work will be carried out together with affiliated sports wings to provide support towards the funding requirements for coaching.
  2. Provide support to obtain necessary sports equipment.
  3. Develop a nutrition program for student-athletes working in collaboration with affiliated sports wings.
  4. Development, maintenance, and upkeep of sporting facilities of Ananda College.
  5. Provide assistance to College sports programs and student-athletes as and when required upon request and approval by the Exco of OASC.
  6. To assist College activities as determined by the Exco of the OASC.
  7. Soft skills development for sports students.

Progress Reports to be submitted Annually

Annual reports will be submitted, as well as reports of monthly Exco meetings highlighting the operational aspects of the fund, together with excerpts from the meeting minutes which will be updated online. Furthermore, the fund shall be maintained and managed with the highest levels of accountability and transparency, and instant receipts will be sent to the donors through the online platform.
